This is a fun, snarky first-person romp that reminded me of reading Stephanie Plum novels by Janet Evanovich. It's really a comic or maybe chick lit mystery novel, which makes the cover slightly misleading (though very attractive). I enjoyed it as a break in the middle of some more serious reading, so much so that I stayed up way too late reading it. I'm not a huge fan of the (truly unpredictable!) ending, but it's not completely out of left field, either. To be perfectly honest, I kind of wish the author had been a little MORE predictable, because then I think she could have made this the beginning of a really fun series. Given this first taste, though, I would happily seek out more books by this author when I'm in the mood for a fun light read.

The Billionaire Who Wasn't edition by Beth Orsoff Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews

The Billionaire Who Wasn't, is a story about two sisters who are the daughters of a convicted swindler. Nina and Tiffany's dad was the head a gigantic Ponzi scam. After he was declare guilty he led the authorities to believe he committed suicide by crashing his plane in the ocean but his body was never found. As if, the girls didn't have enough to deal with enter agent Jason Brody the FBI agent who has been hounding them about their father's hidden loot. Agent Brody was convince that Nina and Tiffany knew where their dad was and where he has hidden all of his ill gotten gains or least he did. Now he claims that he has found evidence to prove that their father is innocent and he wants them to help find him so that they and exonerate him.

So begins a comical escapade to various countries in search of the girl's missing father. The three main personalties are continually at odds with each other, agreeing on very little and always bickering. They are a real hoot. This is well written mystery-comedy that is both compelling and entertaining. A truly enjoyable book. I highly recommend reading this novel, you will love it.

I received a free copy of this book and I am freely posting this fair and honest review
A delightful comic caper following two once wealthy sisters and a rather dodgy FBI agent on a whirlwind trip over continents to try to find their missing father. Nina and Tiffany find !living difficult now that daddy is a convicted fraud. But they don't believe he's guilty and they hope he isn't dead his crashed plane was found at sea but no body. A faked suicide to escape justice? One FBI agent is convinced this is the case and persuades the two women to accompany him in a desperate search to find the father, c!aiming that newly discovered evidence points to his innocence. So begins their hilarious road trip together.
Written from the point of view of the elder of the two daughters, and in the present tense, the action feels immediate and real mostly because of the constant bickering of the three companions. They seem to agree on almost nothing and especially on money, men and where to stay. It is this constant beautifully observed banter which powers the book. The mystery of where the money (and possibly dad) went is very secondary although it provides an enjoyable frame upon which to hang the superb personal interactions between the well crafted characters.
For an amusing, well written light read, highly recommended
My thanks to Book Reviewer 22, from whom I received a complementary copy in exchange for my personal opinions of the book. These I have honestly given
Enjoyable story, easy read. A few twists and turns, nothing complicated. A nice relaxed read with a little drama, a little suspense, and a little "romance" thrown in.
I thought it was a great story. However, comparing it to Mary Higgins Clark was incorrect. MHC would have never used the vile language and descriptions in this book!
I like this book a lot - I was hooked at the beginning and couldn't put it down. I'm not so sure about the ending - it wasn't what I was expecting. I didn't hate the ending, but I didn't love it either.
I'm a big fan of all of Beth's books. I was excited to see she had a new book out, but also a little nervous it seemed so different than her others. However, it did not disappoint. Great characters and a page-turning story line. I highly recommend this book!
Most of the suspense novels I’ve read have been dark and depressing.  Not this one!  The humor between the two sisters kept me laughing, and the plot had me turning pages late into the night.  Great characters, great plot twists, great read.  Highly recommended!
